Before learning: He was shy and nervous to speak with me and had problems with his speaking and pronunciation. He was able to construct some basic sentences but not complex ones. Even though he had difficulties in pronouncing unfamiliar words and had a hard time comprehending the lessons, he tried his best to participate.
