Before learning: When we started your class a couple of months back, I can feel that you were hesitant and nervous to talk with me. You were so shy to open your mouth and say a word in English. You had a lot of fillers like ahhh and mmm in our class. You can only make 1 liner sentence. Expressions were so simple due to limited vocabulary. After learning: And now here you are, after a couple of months of learning in E-say. You transformed yourself into a good English speaker. If you can remember I told you before “One day I will nominate you as my best student”. I slowly noticed your improvement then. Now I believe it will not take time before you will say goodbye to me and our class and will tell me “Teacher Justine I am capable now of speaking English fluently, Thanks for all your help.” When that time comes I will be a proud teacher because I know I will be leaving you with a new found confidence to speak to any foreigners. But you have to remember learning English should be a continuous process. There’s should be no holiday in learning it. No Chinese National Day or Spring Fest. It should be everyday 24/7.
Focus on practicing your intonation, accent and rhythm so you will sound like a native speaker. Enrich your vocabulary by reading different English materials. And remember to always go “an extra mile” and share to others what you have learned with us. Lastly, the most important of all is to remain humble amids all the knowledge you gain. I will just quote one line from one of my favorite movie “With great power comes great responsibility”. Now that you have the knowledge in English it is your responsibility to use it properly and to share it so others will know what they are missing in their life.
